6th Conference on Biomedical Applications of Electrical Impedance Tomography

Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering, University College London, UK, June 22-24, 2005.

Information for delegates

As agreed at the last conference in Gdansk, we are pleased to announce that there will be another conference in London in June 2005.  This will run along similar lines to the previous EPSRC network conferences 1999 - 2001.  It will last from lunchtime to lunchtime from a Wednesday to Friday. There will be only one forum - no parallel sessions, with short presentations of  15
minutes each including questions, and lots of time for discussion.  It will take place in central London, at University College London, in a brand new and comfortable lecture on the main UCL campus (www.ucl.ac.uk).

Generous funding from Prof. Eung-Je Woo and the Impedance Imaging Research Centre, Seoul, South Korea, permits us to offset much of the costs. At present, accommodation will be arranged for two nights in a student residence at UCL, and all meals provided in UCL or in local restaurants. It should be possible to provide this at no charge to all contributors accepted for oral presentations.  We are exploring additional funding, but, at the moment, we cannot support travel costs, which will be the responsibility of attendees.

If you wish to come as a paying attendee, the fee is £220 per person to include student accommodation and meals.

Topics.

There will four topic areas :

Abstracts will not be accepted on subjects outside biomedical EIT, in order to keep the conference focused. In particular, pure bioimpedance or process tomography topics will not count unless of direct relevance to EIT.

Abstract submission.

Please note that application for abstracts is closed. For further information please contact Dr Richard and Dr Holder.

Timetable.

28/2/05 Applications and abstract submission.
14/3/05 Notification of acceptance.
6/6/05 Submission of 4 page paper for conference handbook
22 - 24/6/05 Conference (starting at 1 pm Wednesday 22/6/05 with lunch,
ending 2 pm Friday 24/6/05).

The conference was scheduled on these dates as the Applied Inverse Problems
conference 2005 takes place on 26/6/05 in Gloucestershire UK
(http://www.cs.ucl.ac.uk/staff/S.Arridge/AIP2005/), so we hope attendees at
that conference interested in EIT will also join us.
